WAY 04 OF 06
With a fixed date, you accept the flight and accommodation options available on that day. A preferred date plus a flexible window gives us more combinations to compare.

THE APPROACH
The program brief compares two illustrative departures, 12 days apart. For May 15, the example uses US$720 for flights and US$600 for accommodation. For May 27, it uses US$410 and US$260.
The example total changes from US$1,320 to US$670: an arithmetic difference of US$650. These figures explain the method; they are not live fares, hotel quotes or a prediction of what your trip will cost.
The more flexible your dates, the more opportunities we have to reduce your cost.
Start with when you would ideally like to depart.
Decide whether a few days, two weeks or a wider window works for you.
Look at flights and accommodation together, rather than choosing one in isolation.

May 15 · illustrative departure
Illustrative total: US$720 flights + US$600 accommodation.
Both bars use US$1,320 as the comparison scale. The alternative example totals US$670, a difference of US$650. No other travel costs are included in this comparison.
A date change is only useful if the full itinerary, travel conditions and timing still work for you.

A FEW USEFUL ANSWERS
Not necessarily. The US$650 difference comes only from the two examples in the brief. Your actual options need to be checked for your route and dates.
Yes. Your preferred date remains the starting point. A wider window simply gives you more alternatives to consider.
